Poem – “Letters from Home” by Felice Miley

By Felice Miley

Letters from home are like butter to toast – nothing is complete without them
Even though we text and talk, a letter from home cannot be beat
Time is captured with each new note, gripping at our loving throats
Though time passes, letters keep, everything we need to sleep
Evolution may cause them to go, but everything you write is still yours
Romance can be found in each of them, telling what you mean to send
Sent in hopes that the receiver will have tears of joy

For our hearts, our ever mending hearts
Reserecting our inner desires
Overjoyed in not just a simple feeling
More or less it is love in the purest essence

Having hope is a step towards the future
Overcoming obstacles in every way
Making sacrifices for others to make them happy
Ever changing, nothing is more special than letters from home

Sorry I Was Gone!

Sorry I was not on often. I’m trying to get all of my written work collect so I can post it here for you. You can expect at least 2-3 posts average a week, maybe more, maybe less.

I’m gonna have poems and writings, throwing in a few movie reviews or actor reviews (notice I was looking at you, Taylor Lautner, when I said that…don’t worry…you’re good on MY list!)

OMG This looks so good!

I don’t know why, but Coconut always reminds me of Easter. Maybe because people dye it green for edible Easter Grass, or maybe its cause I am crazy!

I say Easter Grass all the way.  {Shhh, just go with it!}

Anyhow, I found these Coconut Cream Pie Bars on Pinterest, and I had everything on hand to make them, YAY! I love it when a foodie plan comes together.  They were delicious and I like the idea of a bar rather than a pie, you can feed a crowd, and its easier too!

Love in Paranormal

Strange, you say? What about Twilight? Vampires and shape-shifters/werewolves are paranormal. They did it well. I mean, Jacob and Edward (no, they were not the romance points of each other) were both after Bella. Paranormal romance is not uncommon. Wolves, vampires, ghosts, ghouls, and so on…they all connect in romance.

Could make an awesome romance out of this in some way….vampires or ghosts would fit this place perferct.

Bricks + Mortar

With Halloween just one week away, I’ve had the spooky and ghoulish on my mind. Ghost stories and historic places seem to go hand in hand, but when I think of creepy places, the Waverly Hills TB Sanitarium in Louisville, Kentucky is always number one on my list! Allegedly, it is one of the most haunted places in the United States.

The Waverly Hills Tuberculosis Sanitarium is situated on the top of a  secluded wooded hill off of Dixie Highway.  It operated as a tuberculosis hospital for fifty years before medical advancements rendered it obsolete. It then operated as a geriatric facility before being closed by the state in the early 1980s. Historically speaking, the sanitarium is an excellent example of the work of three prominent Revivalist architects in Louisville and improvements in public health.  But it is (in)famous because it is supposedly brimming with paranormal activity and is…

The Hunger Games Left Me Hungry For More!

Wow. When I came out of that movie, I was amazed. Why? It was not just because Katniss was an amazing character….but also the fact that I saw many similarities to our government. I truly think this will wake us up. In all of my rants I have stated that I kind of have a thing for hunks…well, Cato qualifies. And ladies…stop worrying….he’s mine.
